Veg vs. Non-veg

Here is the first blog I am writing ever, may be it will lack a lots of writing skills, so its my humble request to all of you, please leave your comments.

There is already long controversial debate going on all over the world on this topic, and I am a vegetarian. Well, there had been a several reasons for why I am still a vegetarian. A few of them are as follows:
1) Why do u need to kill a life when there are other options available??
2) Animals are not supposed to be treated as our means to fulfill the taste.
3) I personally dont like the non veg taste.

Actually, you can see all these advertisements etc from PeTA etc, not to eat non veg, and every time they explain to you that even scientist day that veg is more nutritious than nonveg.
So until a couple of weeks ago, I was myself a strong supporter of veg.
But, there have been a few questions in my mind which I could not find the perfect answer.

1) Its a part of the food chain, why do we need to worry???
2)Whether or not to eat from nutritious point of view, Its completely an indivisual's choice to eat junk food, veg salad, or a roasted chicken etc....
so, in that case, media or NGOs or anyone, cant keep on nagging us about nonveg....what they can is, just tell us about different food products quality, thats it.
3) All the NGOs,whether believe it or not, are always corrupt, and they actually never bother what you smell, wear, eat etc. So,why the hell should we care about what they say.

Lastly,the most important point....
4) When you are eating anything veg, or even milk product, you snatching someone else's right.
for ex. when you eat a carrot, you take out its root, so in a sense you are killing the plants and the insects which are suppose to feed on them. Dont you think even plants have life??
This is an important thing I would like to emphasize, why do we think only animals have life & sensation?? While the reality is, plants are equal part of nature and they have a life.

So, now I would say...
we have to survive...and for that ...we have to feed ourselves...
whether its plants or animals....in any case we shall be killing lives of other living beings....
so whats the point to take it so seriously and emotionally on eating nonveg...
Its just pure phenomenon of nature and we are a part of the food chain...
Its as simple as that....and the choice depends on indivizuals....

there is another point often being talked about the brutal behaviour with those animals when we eat them...
let me ask you one more thing, do you ever wonder about the feelings of a plant or a tree when you pluck a flower or fruit??
why do you always give more priority to animal life than plant life. does plant life has no importance?? And by the way, fruits & flowers are not meant for our purpose. they are a part of process of reproduction for plants.
so finally, when you are going to eat something, since you have to, you soul aim is to kill other life and feed yourself, then....how does it matter..how brutally or gently you kill other life form???

concluding this blog here.....at present I stand as a vegetarian just because of the reason three mentioned above...
but i strongly support the people's right to choose what they want to eat, when they can afford......

congrats for your first post.
the last line of your post brings forth a very important point which is imperative to like a happy life: freedom to choose.
I am a non-vegetarian and I believe that anything that is bred in farms for the purpose of human consumption should be eaten. Eating animals which are not bred in farms is a human encroachment on the food chain which might disturb the ecological balance. Hence, anything , if it can be bred in a farm, should be eaten.
Vegetarians are free to voice their concerns but everything is sunlight after all. :)

Ya u r rite but then it also depends upon person to person whether he likes what people eat around them or not. But as i'm a veg guy so i'll be a bit partial to veg food.
See if r breeding some animal and then eating it, it's perfectly fine, just like u grow wheat then u eat it and then again grow wheat.
But in this world many people don't have time to think about all this, they kill fishes but has anybody thought that how will a specie survive if u don't let them reproduce, and i don't how r we helping them reproduce might be by dumping wastes in the sea....
So what i believe it's like is duniya me sab chalta he.......
By the way nice start, it's tough to write bolgs on serious topics and tougher to comment :)

I would like to say something about what neeraj and naman said. When you are talking about breeding animals, remember that it was a long time in human history when man used to eat animals whom he killed without having brood them for this purpose of consumption. So, whether they want to call it right or wrong, is something I would like them to comment upon.

Regarding, the blog, well done manu, it was good, for I am personally vegetarian, each and every person has the right to decide what he wants or not. Infact, I believe that in the name of religion, when people claim that this or that animal should not be killed, I find it ridiculous, for the purpose of consumption of food is only to satisfy human hunger, it's not for torturing animals. And you said it well manu, that this is the principle on which food chain works.

Yes. Everything is sunlight. Neeraj is right. Yesterday, it was hari's b'day and we went to a restaurant which served beef. On being asked whether neeraj will like to try it out, his reply was "No. I drink cow's milk. How can i eat the meat of something that i drink milk from?"
My reply was 'u eat a chicken's egg, as well as chicken's meat. how can u do that then?"
To this he said, "A cow gives milk, hence it is like a mother. how can i eat my mother?"
Any answer guys?

@aashu
the above incident of beef ,milk, chicken and egg,
is equal as per the criteria that i follow...
as far as neeraj's answer is concerned...
it happens because ...from our very childhood we r brought up like that...we have been fed in our minds to respect cow, and treat it as mother...
once u wash that thing out of ur brain...everything is alright...
and yeah...right to say...everything is sunlight..

n1 dude

But from what I have seen the reason people choose to be VEG is due to religious obligations. As in it's been taught by their parents that it's against our religion and blah blah blah and to justify it we have been told theories as the sanctity of life and so on (me too dude... i'm a JAIN ! though i eat non veg)

So the point is before get to the age where you can start to think logically about whether you should eat non veg or not, you already have a set frame of mind and a perception about this matter. Hence the views you express cannot be called 'ingenious'. You are just justifying yourself for being such way!

So who care if you eat non veg of not. Chill Out! You just get one life. So YOU decide what you want to do.

Cheers!

well finally...
now i am against non veg...
for a simple reason which was known to me earlier but i could never realise it. It is as follows...
take example for a chicken...
a chicken eats about more than 100kg (yes 100 kg) of food grains in its entire life..(just imagine how much would a human consume).
but when u eat the chicken as meat..hardly two people can fill their belly..
see this is such a simple reason to make u understand that at current situation in environment when there is so much of food crisis all across the globe...you can urself think whts is the better option...
apart from this u can watch this video
